Chef's Forest & Flavour Alchemy — Spiced Honey Gift Set, 6 Jars
Graamya x Smriti's Special
What if the best of Idukki could fit inside a small box?
This spiced honey gift set does exactly that — six jars of raw forest honey, one left just as the bees made it, five built taste by taste with spices grown across Idukki. Graamya made it together with chef Smriti Iyer — the best of forest and flavour, packed into six small jars, built to entice your nose, tickle your taste, and carry your senses off to the pristine forests and spice farms of Idukki.
Head over to Graamya's Instagram to see how we use each jar in our own kitchen. But this set is as much about a quiet, mindful moment as it is about a recipe — six small jars, each one a taste your taste buds were built to notice, savoured slowly, one at a time.
Where it comes from?
This set is a tribute to Idukki's natural bounty — India's spice district, using the best of what it grows, in its purest form, the way Idukki has offered it to the world for generations: raw forest honey, green cardamom, wild kanthari chilli, black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, mace and many more spices. The honey and every spice come from Graamya's network of smallholder farmers across Idukki, paid fairly and directly. It's also part of a broader effort to keep indigenous varieties of these spices in active cultivation, rather than losing them to a handful of commercial hybrids.
About the chef
Smriti Iyer is a Delhi-based chef, teacher, consultant and flavour creator — the founder of Smriti's Special, an online baking school and pastry studio. She's known for an approach to flavour that blends imagination and innovation with the proportion and balance she first trained in as an architect — applied to taste instead of space. That same instinct shaped these five out of six jars — each one built around a single taste, then adjusted spoon by spoon until it held its own against the plain honey underneath it.
The six jars
- Golden Nectar — the plain one. Straight from the hive, nothing added. The base every other jar starts from — quiet, grounding.
- Sweet Radiance —. Honey, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and dried rose petals. Warm, comforting.
- Tangy Orchard — Honey, Malabar tamarind, and ginger — a sour, fruity brightness built around kudampuli, the fruit Kerala's fish curries are built on. Bright, awake.
- Bitter Bloom — Honey, orange Zest, cocoa nibs, and nutmeg — citrus bitterness with a roasted cocoa edge. Reflective, quietly intense.
- Fiery Petal — Honey, kanthari chilli, black pepper, and salt — one of the hottest chillies grown in India, with a slower pepper heat behind it. Bold, alive.
- Saline Grove — Honey, Salt, kanthari chilli, black pepper, and dried garlic — garlic and salt out front, heat further back. Grounded, confident.
Six jars, one forest, one chef — the best of Idukki, one taste at a time.
This is a set built for more than one kind of moment. Pull it out at a get-together and let it start a conversation — pass the jars around and see who can guess the ingredients before checking the label. Sit with it alone, one small spoon at a time, and it becomes something closer to a quiet, sense-led pause in your day. Give it to someone you'd like to see slow down and notice the world a little more, or to someone just beginning to explore taste — six starting points, in one small box.
However you come to it, this is a box worth making time for. Bring it home, or send it to someone who'd love a reason to slow down.
